Interactive voice response (IVR) is a technology that allows a computer to interact with humans through the use of voice and DTMF tones input via keypad.  IVR systems can respond with prerecorded or dynamically generated audio to further direct users on how to proceed. IVR applications can be used to control almost any function where the interface can be broken down into a series of simple interactions. IVR systems deployed in the network are sized to handle large call volumes.

A generic term for a language that lets a program or object written in one language communicate with another program written in an unknown language. It requires a program's interfaces be described in a stub of the program that is compiled into it. 

A protocol for exchanging routing information between gateways (hosts with routers) within an autonomous network. The routing information can then be used by the Internet Protocol (IP) or other network protocols to specify how to route transmissions.

A cathode-ray tube (CRT) display in which the lines are scanned alternately in two interwoven rasterized lines. There are several hundred horizontal lines in a frame. These lines are scanned from left to right, and from top to bottom. 

A protocol based on a routing method known as DECnet Phase V routing, in which routers known as intermediate systems exchange data about routing using a single metric to determine the network topology.

An encryption algorithm developed at ETH in Zurich, Switzerland. It uses a block cipher with a 128-bit key, and is generally considered to be very secure. It is considered among the best publicly known algorithms.

Internet fax, e-fax, or online fax is a general term which refers to the use of the Internet to send a document fax, rather than using only phone networks (traditional faxing) with a fax machine. Internet fax achieves a dramatic reduction in communication costs especially when long faxes are frequently exchanged with overseas or distant offices.
