If you need to write a summary for a scholarly or scientific paper, especially keep calm and do not panic! A summary is simply the summary of a report or article. It allows the reader to preview the document in question. Indeed, your abstract describes the content of your dissertation, whether it is a scientific experiment or a literary analysis. It will help the reader to get an idea about the content of your document and decide if it meets his needs. If you understand a summary in this way, you will be able to write one easily!

Start writing your resume

Write your report first. Generally, you place your summary at the beginning of a document to summarize the content. Rather than presenting your subject, it will serve to give an idea of the issues you have dealt with. For this reason, write your summary last, after the end of writing your document.

Describe your results if it is only an informative summary. This part will make the difference between an informative summary and a descriptive summary. In an informative summary, you must indicate the results of your study. What did you find?

Write your conclusion. You will have to finish your summary with a conclusion in which you will emphasize the importance of your document while giving meaning to the results you have arrived at. The conclusion can appear either in a descriptive summary or an informative summary. However, you will only need to address the following questions if your summary is informative.

Structure your summary

Be ordained. Your resume should provide answers to specific questions that should appear in a certain order. The structure of your abstract should also reflect that of your main document, with an introduction, a body of the subject, and a conclusion.

Start writing again. It is true that it is a summary, but you must still write it separately. Avoid copying and pasting parts of your main document or paraphrasing your own text. Write your resume using terms and phrases that are completely different from the ones you used previously. Thus, you will maintain the reader's interest while avoiding redundancy.

Use phrases and keywords. If your resume is published in a journal, you probably want readers to find it easily. By doing an online search, a reader will enter some expressions hoping to get results containing documents like yours. Try to incorporate in your summary the sentences or the five or ten most important words in your text. Ask him to read your summary and share his remarks. This will enable you to know if you have correctly and clearly presented your main points.
